The winery is located in the municipality of Bingen-Dromersheim ( Bingen area) in the German wine-growing region of Rheinhessen. It is run by Franz-Josef and Bettina Heinz. Since the 2003 vintage, son Oliver has been responsible for the vinification. The vineyards cover 10.5 hectares of vines in the single vineyard sites Honigberg, Klosterweg and Mainzerweg (Dromersheim), as well as Bubenstück and Schwarzenberg (Bingen). They are planted with the white wine varieties Riesling, Silvaner, Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Müller-Thurgau, Huxelrebe, Scheurebe and Kerner, as well as the red wine varieties Dornfelder, Blauer Portugieser and Frühburgunder. Riesling, the main variety with a quarter of the vineyard area, is also produced in the quality grade Riesling Hochgewächs. In years with suitable weather conditions, ice wines are also produced.

The glossary is a monumental achievement and one of the most important contributions to wine knowledge. Of all the encyclopaedias I use on the subject of wine, it is by far the most important. That was the case ten years ago and it hasn't changed since.
