The white grape variety (also California Q 17-16) is a new variety between California A3-94(Muscat d'Hamburg x Sultanina = Sultana) x California K3-78 (Muscat d'Hamburg x Queen of the vineyards). This was also confirmed by DNA analyses carried out in 2009. The cross was made in 1951 by Dr. Harold P. Olmo (1909-2006) at the Agricultural Experiment Station of the University of California. The variety was used as crossing partner for the new varieties Centennial Seedless and Dawn Seedless. It is used as a wine press and table grape. No stocks were reported in 2010 (Statistics Kym Anderson).
