The white grape variety (also California Q 17-16) is a new cross between California A3-94 (Muscat d'Hamburg x Sultanina) x California K3-78 (Muscat d'Hamburg x Queen of the Vineyards). This was also confirmed according to DNA analyses carried out in 2009. The cross was made in 1951 by Dr Harold P. Olmo (1909-2006) at the Agricultural Experiment Station of the University of California. The variety was a crossing partner of the new varieties Centennial Seedless and Dawn Seedless. It is used as a winepress and table grape. No stocks were reported in 2016 (Kym Anderson).
There is a vast number of sources on the web where one can acquire knowledge about wine. But none has the scope, timeliness and accuracy of the information in the encyclopaedia at wein.plus. I use it regularly and rely on it.
