Queen of the vineyards

The white grape variety is a new cross between Afus Ali x Csaba Gyöngye. The parent variety Erzsébet Királyné Emléke (Queen Elisabeth) given in the breeding list turned out to be false in DNA analyses carried out in 2013. There are over 70 synonyms indicating a wide distribution. Some of them are Basilissa, Caraburnu, Karaburnu, Koroleva Vinnis, Kraljica Vinograda, Mathiász 26, Mathiász 140, Moscato Regina, Muscat Queen of Vineyards, Muscat Reine des Vignes, Muškat Kraljica Vinograda Bijeli, Panny, Queen of the Vineyard, Rasaki Oungarias, Razaki de Ungeria, Regina dei Vigneti, Regina dei Vigneti Bianca, Regina Podgoruelor, Regina Viilor, Regina Vuelar, Reine des Vignes and Szölöskertek Királynöje. The cross was made in 1916 by the Hungarian breeder János Mathiász (1838-1921). It was a crossing partner of the new varieties Apirena Bruni, Augusta (2), Aurora (1), Cardinal, Delight, Early Muscat, Favorit, Muscat Timpuriu de Bucuresti, Narancsizü, Palatina, Perel, Perlette and Quanlongzhu. An open-pollinated seedling is Victoria (2).
