Common name in Austria (dialectally "Gleich'presster" or "Gleipresster") for a light red rosé wine. Pressing takes place immediately after a short maceration period of just a few hours on the skins (Austrian "sogleich" or "gleich", from which the name is derived). According to Austrian wine law, the designation must be used on the label together with the grape variety, e.g. "Gleichgepresster aus Zweigelt" or, since the 2018 vintage, as an alternative "weiß gepresst aus Zweigelt". The designation Blanc de noirs may also be used (this is tolerated). A Gleichgepresster corresponds analogously to Süßdruck (Switzerland), Kretzer (South Tyrol), Weißherbst (Germany) and Vin gris (France).
The glossary is a monumental achievement and one of the most important contributions to wine knowledge. Of all the encyclopaedias I use on the subject of wine, it is by far the most important. That was the case ten years ago and it hasn't changed since.
