The vineyard is located in the commune of Saint-Christophe des Bardes, three kilometres east of Saint-Émilion in the area of the same name (Bordeaux). It was sold by a Baron du Foussat de Bogeronan to the Beyney family in 1923. Today, it is run by Christine and Jean-Guy Beyney, the third generation of the Beyney family. The estate was classified as a Grand Cru Classé for the first time in 2012. The vineyards cover almost four hectares of vines, planted with the Merlot (85%) and Cabernet Franc (15%) varieties. The Clos indicates an enclosure with walls. Some of the vines are very old, more than 70 years old. The long-lived wine matures for 16 to 18 months in 100% new barriques. The second wine is called "Charles de Sarpe".
