The white grape variety is a new breeding between Captain x Terret Monstre (Terret Blanc). It contains genes from Vitis lincecumii, Vitis rupestris and Vitis vinifera. The hybrid was crossed in the USA by the breeder Paul H. Shepard. It is used as table grape. In 2016, four hectares of vines were designated in Brazil (Kym Anderson).

The glossary is a monumental achievement and one of the most important contributions to wine knowledge. Of all the encyclopaedias I use on the subject of wine, it is by far the most important. That was the case ten years ago and it hasn't changed since.
