Angelo Pirovano

The grape variety is a new variety between Chasselas Rose x Muscat d'Hamburg. Synonyms are Pirovano 2, Uva Rosa and Uva Rossa. The cross was made in 1899 at the research centre in Rome by the Italian grower Alberto Piròvano (1884-1973). The late-maturing vine has no particular resistances. It is mainly used as table grape in many countries around the world. It was a crossing partner of the new varieties Ignea, Servabilis, Solferino (1) and Yamanashi 7. No stocks were reported in 2016 (Kym Anderson).
