Variety

In the case of a grape variety, this means that a rather slight deviation caused by mutation is to be understood, which is expressed, for example, by different berry colours, as in the case of Pinot with Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Pinot Meunier, Pinot Noir and Pinot Précoce(early Burgundy). Such grape varieties are also called mutants or clone mutants. On the other hand, variety is understood as a variety in its own right. See also vine systematics and grapevine.

Sigi Hiss

There is a vast number of sources on the web where one can acquire knowledge about wine. But none has the scope, timeliness and accuracy of the information in the encyclopaedia at wein.plus. I use it regularly and rely on it.
