Sumerian

Name for a people who lived in the region of Sumer in southern Mesopotamia in the 3rd millennium BC. The legendary King Gilgamesh (c. 2700 BC) wanted to achieve immortality by drinking wine and King Hammurabi (1728-1686 BC) created the first wine law.
