Named after the commune of the same name (also Sainte-Foy), the appellation is located in the very east of the large Entre-deux-Mers(Bordeaux) area, bordering the Bergerac area. The vineyards cover 350 hectares of vines and extend over 19 communes in the Gironde department. The mostly sweet white wines are blended from the Sémillon, Sauvignon Blanc and Muscadelle varieties, as well as a maximum of 10% Merlot Bl anc, Colombard, Mauzac Blanc and Ugni Blanc (Trebbiano Toscano). The red wines are made from the varieties Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Malbec (Cot) and Petit Verdot. The wines are quite similar to those from Bergerac.
