Mennas

The white grape variety is a new cross between Gewürztraminer x Gouais Blanc. The cross was made in 1986 by the breeder Hans-Peter Baumann in the municipality of Visp (Haut-Valais) in Switzerland. The medium to late ripening vine produces aromatic white wines with moderate acidity and aromas of lychee, roses and marzipan. It is grown exclusively by the Diroso winery in the canton of Valais hectares. However, no stocks were reported in 2016 (Kym Anderson).

Serious sources on the internet are rare - and Wine lexicon from wein.plus is one such source. When researching for my articles, I regularly consult the wein.plus encyclopaedia. There I get reliable and detailed information.
