The winery is located in the municipality of Assmannshausen in the German wine-growing region of Rheingau. A wine tavern is open during the gourmet weeks and open wine cellar days. The König family's winemaking tradition can be traced back to 1704 and has been continued by son Philipp König since the death of Robert König in 2015. The vineyards cover seven hectares of vineyards in the single vineyards Höllenberg and Frankenthal (Assmannshausen), as well as Drachenstein (Rüdesheim). The vineyards are all on slopes and most of them are steep slopes. They are 90% planted with the red wine varieties Pinot Noir and Frühburgunder, and the white wine varieties Riesling and Weißburgunder (Pinot Blanc).
For my many years of work as an editor with a wine and culinary focus, I always like to inform myself about special questions at Wine lexicon. Spontaneous reading and following links often leads to exciting discoveries in the wide world of wine.
