single vineyard in the municipality of Assmannshausen in the German wine-growing region of Rheingau. The red wines from the Frankenthal vineyard were already highly prized in the 19th and early 20th centuries. The south-south-west facing vineyards lie at an altitude of 120 to 250 metres above sea level and have a slope of 50 to 65%. They cover 16 hectares of vineyards. The medium to deep soils consist of quartzite and slate with a proportion of loam, which is partly interspersed with loess in the lower part of the northern section. The Pinot Noir variety in particular is cultivated here. The wineries Bischöfliches Weingut Rüdesheim, Chat Sauvage, Georg Müller Stiftung, G.H. von Mumm, König Klaus & Ursula, König Robert, Krone Künstler Gunter and Strieth Thilo, for example, have shares in the site.
