Eaton

The red grape variety originates from the USA. Synonyms are Eaton's Seedling, King and Wallis Giant. It is a mutation of the Concord variety. It contains genes from Vitis labrusca and Vitis vinifera. The hybrid was selected in the USA in 1868 by Calvin Eaton. The vine is used as a wine grape and yields red wines with a light foxtone. No stocks were reported in 2016 (Kym Anderson statistics).
