DOC area for white wines in Italy. It was created in 2017 during the reorganization of the former IGT area Delle Venezie (now Trevenezie). The Slovenian designation Beneških Okolišev can also be used on the label. The huge zone comprises the three regions of Friuli Venezia Giulia, the part Trentino of Trentino-Alto Adige and Veneto. The pure Pinot Grigio is made from at least 85% of this variety and a maximum of 15% of the authorised white varieties. It can also be called Pinot Grigio delle Venezie. There is also a spumante of this variety. The Bianco must contain at least 50% of one of the varieties Chardonnay, Friulano(Sauvignonasse), Garganega, Müller-Thurgau or Pinot Bianco(Pinot Blanc); furthermore Verduzzo(Verduzzo Friulano and/or Verduzzo Trevigiano) is also permitted.
