The white grape variety (also Katelin) originates from Canada. It is a somatic mutation with reddish berries of the Concord variety. There are genes from Vitis labrusca and Vitis vinifera present as a result of its ancestry. The hybrid was selected by the two breeders W. L. Lounsbury and M. W. Lounsbury. It is used as a winepress and table grape. The berries have a foxy. The vine is grown in very small quantities in the Canadian province of Nova Scotia. In 2016, 0.2 hectares of vineyard were reported (Kym Anderson statistics).
In the past, you needed a wealth of encyclopaedias and specialist literature to keep up to date in your vinophile professional life. Today, Wine lexicon from wein.plus is one of my best helpers and can rightly be called the "bible of wine knowledge".
