This red grape variety comes from Portugal. According to DNA analyses carried out in 2020, it comes from a presumably natural cross between Alfrocheiro x Cayetana Blanca. It is grown in small quantities in the Alentejo, Centro and Norte areas. In 2016, a total of seven hectares of vines were declared (Kym Anderson statistics).
Serious sources on the internet are rare - and Wine lexicon from wein.plus is one such source. When researching for my articles, I regularly consult the wein.plus encyclopaedia. There I get reliable and detailed information.
