The red grape variety is a new cross-breed of (Ryzlink x Svatovavrinecke) x Zweigeltrebe =(Riesling x St. Laurent) x Zweigelt. The crossing was carried out in the South Moravian breeding station Perná by the two breeders Ing. F. Zatloukal and Ing. Plant variety protection was granted in 2001. The vine is resistant to frost, but susceptible to botrytis. It produces full-bodied red wines with soft tannins and red fruit aroma. It is cultivated in small quantities in the Czech Republic. In 2010, three hectares were still recorded, but no more stock was reported in 2016 (Kym Anderson).
