Alb de Onițcani

The white grape variety is a complex, interspecific new variety between Gyulyabi Chil x(Pierrelle x Seyanets 244). Synonyms are Omishkanskii Belyi, Onickanskij Belyj, Onitcanschii Belai, Onitskanskii Belyi, Onitskanskij Belyj and Onitkansky Bely. Genes of Vitis berlandieri, Vitis rupestris and Vitis vinifera are included. The hybrid was crossed in Moldova in 1970 by the breeder D. D. Verderevskii. In 2016, 424 hectares were designated in Moldova under the name Alb de Onițcani and 66 hectares in Russia under the name Onitskanskii Belyi (Kym Anderson).
