Wineries Wagram

The winegrowers' association "Weingüter Collegium Wagram" in the Wagram winegrowing region(Lower Austria) was founded at the end of 2001. However, it operated under the name "Weingüter Wagram". The chairman was Franz Leth from the winery of the same name in the municipality of Fels am Wagram. The main aim was to revitalise the Wagram region as an association at a high level within a short period of time and to live the quality of the up-and-coming wineries. With the introduction of the DAC system in the Wagram wine-growing region in 2021, the association ceased its activities.

Goals

Through constant exchange within the group, the winegrowers wanted to further improve the quality of their wines and thus stay on the ball of all innovations in the wine sector. The special leading variety of this region around the Wagram is Grüner Veltliner. The climate and soil are ideal for this grape variety, guaranteeing optimum ripening and growth. The aim of the Wagram wineries was to give this grape variety in particular an independent profile that can hold its own in the diverse Austrian Veltliner landscape.
