The red grape variety originates from Italy. Synonyms are Ancellotta di Massenzatico, Ancellotti, Lancellotta, Lancelotta and Uino. It was a crossing partner in the new variety Galotta. The late-ripening vine produces dark-coloured, fruity, rather low-acid red wines.
