Special bottling of wines or sparkling wines for certain customers or consumers and/or for a special occasion. Examples of customers are trading houses or supermarket chains for which special products of a certain quality are produced. Special occasions can be anniversaries of the producer or historical events. For example, for the fiftieth anniversary of the signing of the Austrian State Treaty in 2005, a special wine was created by a selected producer (see also under Katzensprung). Certain producers also market wines with individually designed labels for special occasions, such as company anniversaries, weddings or birthdays. By definition, a special bottling is a one-off promotion. See also under private label, house brand and branded wine.
