Sommerhalde

single vineyard in the municipality of Bombach (Breisgau area) in the German wine-growing region of Baden. The south-west to south-southeast facing vineyards with a slope of 10 to 30% cover 36 hectares of vineyards on clayey, ferruginous shell limestone soils with a proportion of loess. The Burgundy varieties Spätburgunder (Pinot Noir), Weißburgunder (Pinot Blanc) and Grauburgunder (Pinot Gris) are cultivated here. The Huber Bernhard, Schätzle Leopold and Waßmer Fritz wineries, for example, have shares in the site. There are other single vineyards called Sommerhalde in the Württemberg municipalities of Eberstadt, Korb and Reutlingen.

Serious sources on the internet are rare - and Wine lexicon from wein.plus is one such source. When researching for my articles, I regularly consult the wein.plus encyclopaedia. There I get reliable and detailed information.
