DOCG area for sweet white wine in the Italian region of Veneto. The wine type was highly classified in 2008. The zone includes the Classico area of the Gambellara DOC area. These are parts of the municipalities of Gambellara, Montebello Vicentino, Montorso Vicentino and Zermeghedo in the province of Vicenza. The sweet dessert wine is produced according to the Recioto method, as it is called here. For this, particularly ripe grapes are selected and dried. The wine is made from 100% pure local Garganega grapes. There are two types of wine: Recioto di Gambellara Classico and Recioto di Gambellara Spumante.
