The white grape variety originates from Spain. Synonyms are Empinadillo, Fortunato, Portuarto and Torrontés de Montilla. It originates from a presumably natural cross between Cayetana Blanca x unknown partner. Nothing is known about a possible genetic relationship to the variety Zalema (with synonym Torrontés de Montilla). It is used as a winepress and table grape. No stocks were reported in 2016 (Kym Anderson statistics).
There is a vast number of sources on the web where one can acquire knowledge about wine. But none has the scope, timeliness and accuracy of the information in the encyclopaedia at wein.plus. I use it regularly and rely on it.
