single vineyard in the municipality of Forst (Mittelhaardt-Deutsche Weinstraße area) in the German wine-growing region of Pfalz. The name has nothing to do with the nine daughters of Zeus from Greek mythology, but probably derives from "Musehelde" (similar to the Deidesheimer Mäushöhle in connection with mice). The vineyard, which faces east and west at an altitude of 170 to 180 metres above sea level with a slope of 5 to 10%, covers nine hectares of vines. The soils consist of loamy sand with limestone pebbles and occasional clay. Here, Riesling and Pinot Noir are cultivated. The Margarethenhof, Müller Eugen, Reichsrat von Buhl and Spindler Heinrich wineries, for example, have shares in the site.
Serious sources on the internet are rare - and Wine lexicon from wein.plus is one such source. When researching for my articles, I regularly consult the wein.plus encyclopaedia. There I get reliable and detailed information.
