The red grape variety is a new cross between Merlot x (Băbească Neagră x Muskat-Ottonel). The cross was made in Romania by the breeders A. Ionescu and M. Oslobeanu. The name was given after the Romanian seaside resort on the Black Sea. In 2016, 0.4 hectares of vineyards were designated in Romania (Kym Anderson).
For my many years of work as an editor with a wine and culinary focus, I always like to inform myself about special questions at Wine lexicon. Spontaneous reading and following links often leads to exciting discoveries in the wide world of wine.
