The champagne house based in Le Mesnil-sur-Oger was founded by Eugène-Aimé Salon in 1920. Since 1988, the company has belonged to the Laurent-Perrier trading group. The company mainly produces champagne from 100 per cent Chardonnay(Blanc de blancs). The company's own estate of only one hectare in Le Mesnil (Grand Cru site) covers about one sixth of the demand, the rest is bought in. Only about 80,000 bottles are produced annually, of which only about 30,000 are released. The stock, however, is ten times that amount. The company is completely handmade. The quality standard is very high; since 1911, only 33 millésime (vintage champagnes) have been produced. The minimum storage time of three years for vintage champagnes is clearly exceeded. As a rule, the products are only marketed after ten years.
