Kapselsky

The white grape variety originates from Ukraine. Synonyms are Kapselsky Belyi, Kapsel Skii, Kapselski, Kapselskii and Matvienkovsky. The parentage is unknown. It has morphological similarities with the local variety Solnechnodolinsky. The vine is resistant to fungal diseases. It is grown in the Sudak region in the Solnechnaya Dolina (Sun Valley) area of Crimea, where it is basically used as a blend in dessert wines. However, no stocks were reported in 2016 (Kym Anderson statistics).
