The white grape variety comes from the Ukraine. Synonyms are Kapselsky Belyi, Kapsel Skii, Kapselski, Kapselskii and Matvienkovsky. The parentage (parenthood) is unknown. It shows morphological similarities with the local variety Solnechnodolinsky. The vine is resistant to fungal diseases. It is cultivated in the Sudak region in the Solnechnaya Dolina (Sun Valley) area in Crimea, where it is generally used as a blend in dessert wines. However, no stocks were reported in 2010 (Kym Anderson).
