A form of plant protection in agriculture that incorporates or integrates (integratio = creating a unit) various measures. Through a well-coordinated combination of economically, ecologically/biologically and toxicologically suitable methods, high-quality products are to be produced in an economically viable manner while conserving resources and preserving biodiversity.
The overriding aim is to intervene in the ecological balance as little and as gently as possible. This is a sub-aspect of KIP (Controlled Integrated Production).
Integrated crop protection methods: 1 = biological methods, 2 = physical methods, 3 = grape variety selection, 4 = chemical processes, 5 = cultivation methods, 6 = biotechnical methods
Serious sources on the internet are rare - and Wine lexicon from wein.plus is one such source. When researching for my articles, I regularly consult the wein.plus encyclopaedia. There I get reliable and detailed information.
