The winery "Azienda Agricola Incisiana" is located in the municipality of Incisa Scapaccino (province of Asti) in the Italian region of Piedmont. In the 18th century, the "Antichi-Tenimenti Marchesato d'Incisa" were the country estate of the Marquises of Incisa. The manor house and the 300-year-old trees in the park date from this period. In 1999, Florian Oelssner and Eckhard Fischer re-founded the estate. On five hectares of vineyards, the grape varieties Barbera, Merlot and Sauvignon Blanc are cultivated. The vines are cultivated according to the rules of biodynamic viticulture. This includes the renunciation of chemical products such as herbicides and mineral fertilisers and instead the use of biodynamic products to strengthen the soil and plants. The grass growing between the rows of vines is cut by hand and used as mulch. The grapes, which have been reduced in yield by thinning (green harvesting), are harvested by hand in several passes, transported in small cassettes and sorted again according to quality characteristics before pressing.
