The winery is located in the municipality of Parcent in the Spanish DO area of Alicante in the Valenciana region. It was founded in 1978 and is now run by Felipe Gutiérrez de la Vega. There are no vineyards of their own. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Monastrell, Garnacha Tinta and various Muscat varieties are purchased. There are 100 barrique barrels made of French and American oak available for ageing. Sweet wines made from different Muscat varieties are a speciality, marketed under the name of the works of famous writers. These are, for example, "Ulises" (Ullysses by James Joyce) and "Rojo y Negro" (Red and Black by Dashiell Hammett). Casta Diva Cosecha Miel" (Cosecha Miel = honey harvest) from Muscat d'Alexandrie is considered the best wine. The fermentation is stopped by adding wine spirit. Afterwards, the wine matures for six months in barriques. Around 40,000 bottles are produced annually.
For me, Lexicon from wein.plus is the most comprehensive and best source of information about wine currently available.
