The white grape variety originates from Spain. Synonyms are Garrio Macho, Parron Garrido and Parron Garrio. According to DNA analyses carried out in 2018, it comes from a presumably natural cross between Cayetana Blanca x unknown partner. It is a parent of the Garrido Fino variety. The variety is used as a winepress and table grape. No stocks were reported in 2016 (Kym Anderson statistics).
