Forcallat Tinta

The red grape variety comes from Spain. Synonyms are Alcabril di Gualadin, Alibril, Forcala, Forcalla, Forcalla Negra, Forcalla Noire, Forcalla Prieta, Forcalla Tinta, Forcallat Tinto, Macabeo, Planta Forcaya, Verdal, Verdalejo and Verdalla. According to DNA analyses carried out in 2018, it comes from a presumably natural cross between Hebén x unknown partner. Nothing is known about a possible relationship with the white variety Forcallat Blanca. This vine, which matures very late, produces light red wines. It is cultivated in the provinces of Murcia and Valencia. In 2016, 535 hectares of vineyards were declared with a strong downward trend; in 2000 it was five times this amount (statistics Kym Anderson).
