The white grape variety (also Crimpoșie Selecționată) originates from Romania. It is an open-pollinated seedling of the Crâmpoșie variety. Accordingly, the father variety is unknown. The vine was selected in 1972 by the breeders Emilian Popescu, Marin Neagu and Petre Banita in Drăgășani in Romania. It is used as a wine grape and table grape. In 2021, 134 hectares of vines were reported in Romania (ONVPV Romania statistics).
Serious sources on the internet are rare - and Wine lexicon from wein.plus is one such source. When researching for my articles, I regularly consult the wein.plus encyclopaedia. There I get reliable and detailed information.
