The red grape variety comes from Italy. Its originality was confirmed by DNA analyses carried out in 2008. Nothing is known about the parentage (parenthood) or possible genetic relationships to other Colorino varieties such as Colorino del Valdarno or Colorino di Lucca. Confusingly, Colorino di Pisa is also a synonym for the variety Alicante Henri Bouschet. In 2016, no stocks were identified under the name Colorino di Pisa (Kym Anderson).
For my many years of work as an editor with a wine and culinary focus, I always like to inform myself about special questions at Wine lexicon. Spontaneous reading and following links often leads to exciting discoveries in the wide world of wine.
