Colorino di Lucca

The red grape variety comes from Italy. Its originality was confirmed by DNA analyses carried out in 2008. Nothing is known about the parentage (parenthood) or possible genetic relationships to other Colorino varieties such as Colorino del Valdarno or Colorino di Pisa. Confusingly, Colorino di Pisa is also a synonym for the varieties Abrusco and Petit Bouschet. No stocks were identified under the name Colorino di Lucca in 2016 (Kym Anderson).

There is a vast number of sources on the web where one can acquire knowledge about wine. But none has the scope, timeliness and accuracy of the information in the encyclopaedia at wein.plus. I use it regularly and rely on it.
