The vineyard is located on the northern edge of Saint-Émilion(Bordeaux) in the area of the same name. It has been owned by the Reiffers family since the mid-19th century. It was last managed by Sophie Fourcade-Reiffers, who sold it to the Cuvalier family in 2013. It is classified as a Grand Cru Classé, which was last confirmed in 2012. The vineyards cover almost two hectares of vines with 100% Merlot. The long-lasting red wine vinified at Château Côte de Baleau (also sold to Cuvalier) matures for up to 20 months in 100% new barrique barrels.

Serious sources on the internet are rare - and Wine lexicon from wein.plus is one such source. When researching for my articles, I regularly consult the wein.plus encyclopaedia. There I get reliable and detailed information.
