The estate is located in the commune of Pauillac in the area of the same name in the Médoc(Bordeaux). It was last classified as a Cru Bourgeois in 2003 in the Bordeaux classification according to the old system, which is no longer valid. The estate, which has been owned by the Gimenez family since 1958, was acquired by Baroness Philippine de Rothschild (1935-2014) in 2004. It is located exactly between the two Rothschild estates Château Mouton-Rothschild and Château Clerc Milon. The vineyards cover 13 hectares of vines planted with Cabernet Sauvignon (65%), Merlot (25%), Cabernet Franc (5%) and Petit Verdot (5%). The long-lasting red wine matures for 18 months in barriques.
There is a vast number of sources on the web where one can acquire knowledge about wine. But none has the scope, timeliness and accuracy of the information in the encyclopaedia at wein.plus. I use it regularly and rely on it.
