The winery is located in the municipality of Moulis or the area of the same name in the Médoc(Bordeaux). It was last classified as a Cru Bourgeois Exceptionnel in 2003 in the Bordeaux classification according to the old system, which is no longer valid. A Monsieur Dutruch had the château built in the 19th century. In 1967, it was sold by Mr Lambert to his relative François Cordonnier, who then passed it on to his nephew Jean-Baptiste in 1993. The vineyards cover 25 hectares and are planted with Merlot (50%), Cabernet Sauvignon (45%) and Petit Verdot (5%). The long-lasting red wine is matured for 12 months in barriques, half of which are new. Other wines are produced under the names "La Barnède-Grand Poujeaux" and "La Gravière-Grand Poujeaux".
The glossary is a monumental achievement and one of the most important contributions to wine knowledge. Of all the encyclopaedias I use on the subject of wine, it is by far the most important. That was the case ten years ago and it hasn't changed since.
