The winery is located in the commune of Lalande de Pomerol in the area of the same name (Bordeaux). It had been owned by the Milhade family since 1938 before it was taken over in 2005 by the Hessel family, who also own Château Moulin-à-Vent in the Haut-Médoc. The vineyards cover 22 hectares of gravel and sandy soils and are planted with Merlot (70%), Cabernet Franc (18%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (12%). Half of the long-lasting red wine is matured in new barriques. The second wine is called "Château des Biscarats".
Serious sources on the internet are rare - and Wine lexicon from wein.plus is one such source. When researching for my articles, I regularly consult the wein.plus encyclopaedia. There I get reliable and detailed information.
