Term (french tuilé = brick) for the orange-red colour of a red wine in the context of a wine address. This is particularly characteristic of Mediterranean wines, such as those from the French Provence. The slightly bleached (burnt) colour has a light brownish shimmer. However, this can also mean that a wine is nearing its peak during bottle aging and should be drunk soon. See also under colour, and blue, black and white.

There is a vast number of sources on the web where one can acquire knowledge about wine. But none has the scope, timeliness and accuracy of the information in the encyclopaedia at wein.plus. I use it regularly and rely on it.
