Braunfels

single vineyard in the municipality of Wiltingen (Saar area) in the German Moselle wine-growing region. The vineyards, which face west to southwest and have slopes of 25 to 50%, cover 20 hectares of vineyards. The best plots are those in the western neighbourhood of the famous Scharzhofberg. The soils consist of weathered grey slate with greywacke, quartzite and clay. Riesling is cultivated here in particular. The Reichsgraf von Kesselstatt, Reinert, Rinke and Van Volxem wineries, for example, have shares.
