Braunfels

single vineyard in the municipality of Wiltingen (Saar region) in the German Moselle wine-growing region. The south to south-south-west facing vineyards at 200 to 240 metres above sea level with a slope of 38 to 51% cover 17 hectares of vines. The best parcels of the vineyard are located directly on the dome next to the famous Scharzhofberg. They are also known as the "Vols". The soils consist of weathered grey slate with greywacke, quartzite and clay. The Riesling variety is mainly cultivated here. The Reichsgraf von Kesselstatt, Reinert, Rinke, Van Volxem and Vereinigte Hospitien wineries, among others, have shares in the site.
