There are no vineyards in this state of the USA, but there is a wine producer. The winery "Denali Winery", named after a nearby mountain, was founded in 1997 by Judy Hall in Anchorage (62nd latitude), the largest city in Alaska. The business was taken over in 2011 by the couple Mike and Catherine Bessent. The company buys grape must mainly from California, but also from many other countries in 5-gallon units (about 20 litres). Among them is an Icewine made from frozen Riesling grapes. The labels are decorated with different wild animals of Alaska (bear, eagle, moose, dolphin etc.). A part of it is sold together with a winemaking set (small fermenters, yeast, crisps essence, other) to private customers who use it in "home-winemaking" to produce their own homemade wine. However, grape juice supplied by customers can be processed into wine in the desired form.
