Old barrel measure (also Vierling) from the Markgräflerland in the German wine-growing region of Baden with a volume of 600 litres. The name derives from the fact that four ounces fit inside. These barrels were used as new (wine-green) barrels, similar to the French barrique. See also under barrel types and hollow measures.
