The winery is located in the municipality of Gamlitz-Steinbach in the Austrian wine-growing region of southern Styria. A guest house is attached. The winery is run by Maria and Johannes Söll. The vineyards cover ten hectares of vines in the Sernauberg and Steinbach sites. More than 80% of the vineyards are planted with the white wine varieties Sauvignon Blanc, Welschriesling, Morillon (Chardonnay), Gelber Muskateller, Rivaner and Sämling 88 (Scheurebe), the rest with Blauer Zweigelt. Natural, environmentally friendly viticulture is consistently practiced according to biodynamic principles. The phases of the moon are also taken into account. For many years, artificial fertilization and botrytis treatment have been avoided and pest control reduced. Between the rows of vines there is a year-round cover crop with grasses, herbs and medicinal plants. Depending on the type, the wines are aged in steel tanks, in large wooden barrels or in barriques. Pearl wines, bottle-fermented sparkling wines and noble brandies are also produced from fruit from our own vineyards.
