The winery is located in the municipality of Serra de' Conti in the province of Ancona in the Italian region of Marche, about 20 kilometres from the Adriatic coast. It was founded in 1999 by the German architect couple Thomas and Kirsten Weydemann. Dr. Agostino Pisani works as a consulting agronomist and oenologist. The vineyards cover three hectares at 220 metres above sea level and are planted with the red varieties Montepulciano (two thirds), Merlot, Sagrantino and Syrah. The vineyards are cultivated according to the criteria of organic viticulture. These include the use of organic fertiliser, green manure, mechanical weeding with no herbicides and control of diseases and pests with biological sprays. The best grapes from preferred locations are used for the pure varietal wines. The Verdicchio grapes for the white wine are harvested on a friendly vineyard itself.
