The winery is located in the municipality of Steinheim-Höpfigheim (Württembergisch Unterland area) between Stuttgart and Heilbronn in the German wine-growing region of Württemberg. It has been in the family for several generations. Senior boss is Herbert Schütz, responsible cellar master son Benjamin Schütz. As a former member of the local cooperative, the grapes have been processed and the wines marketed themselves since the 2008 vintage. The vineyards cover 6.5 hectares in the single vineyard sites Königsberg (Höpfigheim), Lichtenberg (Kleinbottwar) and Wartberg (Beilstein).

They are 30% planted with the white wine varieties Riesling, Kerner, Müller-Thurgau, Chardonnay, Muscaris, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Gris and Pinot Blanc, and 70% with the red wine varieties, Cabernet Cantor, Cabernet Cortis, Dornfelder, Frühburgunder, Lemberger, Muskat-Trollinger, Piroso, Schwarzriesling, Spätburgunder and Trollinger. The vineyards are cultivated in a natural, environmentally friendly way, without the use of herbicides and synthetic fertilisers and, in the case of the PIWI varieties, without the use of pesticides all year round.

Serious sources on the internet are rare - and Wine lexicon from wein.plus is one such source. When researching for my articles, I regularly consult the wein.plus encyclopaedia. There I get reliable and detailed information.
