The PDO area (also known as Ojaleshi Salkhino) is located around the municipality of Martvili in the Megrelia (Samegrelo) area in the Guria region of Georgia. It stretches 250 metres above sea level from the left bank of the Tekhura River to the hills of the Kvibia Mountains. The dry red wine is made from a single variety of the Ojaleshi grape. It is characterised by a ruby red colour and an extract-rich, fruity aroma of red berries and roses.
