IGT area (country wines) for white, red and rosé wines in the Italian region of Lombardy. It covers 3.5 hectares of vineyards in numerous municipalities in the province of Varese. Grape varieties authorised in the region may be used. The main grape varieties are Friulano = Sauvignonasse; (Bianco), as well as Barbera, Croatina, Merlot and Nebbiolo (Rosso). The rest can be other authorised varieties. Varietal wines must contain at least 85% of the variety in question, up to 15% may be other varieties. Different for each wine type, a minimum alcohol content is prescribed, but no maturation periods.
